there was no significant or sizable demonstration when the attacks unfolded sometime after 9:35 p.m. in benghazi on 9/11. in simple terms this was not an ongoing demonstration that spiraled out of control. quote, there was no protests and attacks were not spontaneous the intelligence source said. the libyan attack was planned and had nothing to do with the movie. according to fox news's official a u.s. official did not dispute the account and talked about at small demonstration this consulate as how many separated the attack in the even u.s. official could not say adding it part of the investigation. quote, while everything is still under investigation, the available information suggests that the protests in cairo inspired what the attackers decided to do later that night in benghazi. right now this points to a plan that was hatched opportunisticly on that day. while the libyan government as well was senior members of congress briefed on the attack call it terrorism and they say it was premeditated the state department spokeswoman would still not go that far. >> again i'm not going to put labels on t

're now saying that the deadly attack on the u.s. consulate in benghazi, libya, was indeed an organized terrorist attack. the original statement after the september 11 attack was that it was a violent end to a spontaneous protest over an anti-muslim film. but an investigation found evidence to the contrary. that investigation is still going on. >>> president obama spoke with israeli prime minister benjamin netanyahu over the phone for about 20 minutes yesterday. the white house says the president reaffirmed his commitment to israel's security and agreed they must prevent iran from getting a nuclear weapon. the president has been criticized for not meeting with netanyahu in person. netanyahu has expressed frustration with the u.s. for not taking a more aggressive stance on iran. the u.s. instead relying on diplomacy and sanctions. later, mitt romney also spoke to netanyahu by phone. >>> well there are only 38 days left until election day. early voting has already started in a few states and even more kick it up next week. also next week, the first presidential debate. that's on wednesday
